The Challenge
Madeline came to our CBT-Insomnia program after seven exhausting years of trying to fix her sleep. She felt like she’d tried every remedy imaginable—from sleep hygiene tips and herbal teas to melatonin, Benadryl, and prescription sleeping pills. For three years, she’d been relying on Zopiclone every night, a routine she desperately wanted to escape. Yet, she was trapped by the fear that quitting the medication would make her sleep even worse. Madeline’s insomnia consumed her life; she constantly worried about her sleep and how it impacted her ability to concentrate at work, her irritability with family, and her tendency to cancel social plans due to perpetual exhaustion. To her, getting a good night’s sleep felt like an impossible dream, and she worried she was destined to be an insomniac forever.
The Progress
Madeline completed our six-week CBT-Insomnia program and saw significant improvements in her sleep. She now has a much deeper understanding of sleep and what was previously maintaining her insomnia. She falls asleep faster at the beginning of the night and returns to sleep much more quickly when she experiences a nighttime awakening. Most importantly, she no longer needs sleeping aids to fall and stay asleep. She feels her energy levels have improved significantly during the day, and she feels empowered by the knowledge and tools she’s gained.
